President Erdoğan Emphasizes Support for Bahçeli and Fight Against Terrorism
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his speech at his party’s group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, conveyed his support and thanks to his People’s Alliance partner Devlet Bahçeli for his determined stance in the fight against terrorism. Erdoğan said, “Mr. Devlet Bahçeli is a leader who always draws a direction for history with his brave actions,” and emphasized the importance of Bahçeli’s call to PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan within the alliance.
Erdoğan, touching on the importance of Republic Day, celebrated with enthusiasm at home and abroad on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the foundation of the Republic, stated that he respectfully commemorated the martyrs and veterans of the national struggle. Erdoğan stated that the Republic was a common value for all of Turkey and said, “The Republic is the republic of both Turks and Kurds.”
Terrorist Attack on TUSAŞ Facilities
President Erdoğan also touched upon the attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) facilities. Erdoğan wished mercy on those who were martyred in this treacherous terrorist attack and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded. He stated that he saw the high morale of TUSAŞ employees and their strong commitment to production, and emphasized that they were determined to further increase investments in the field of national defense. In this context, he stated that they made the first delivery of the T-625 GÖKBEY, which is a milestone in domestic helicopter production, to the Gendarmerie General Command, and that two more were planned to be delivered by the end of the year. He said that a total of 20 GÖKBEY helicopters would be delivered to various institutions by 2026.
The Equality and Fraternity Principle of the Republic
Erdoğan stated that all citizens were equal and a part of this country after the foundation of the Republic, and that the Republic reflected a management approach that did not discriminate and did not exclude anyone. He emphasized that the republic is not only a specific segment but a common value for all people. He said, “This republic is a republic for the poor as well as the rich, for the south as well as the north,” and emphasized that it embraces all segments of society equally. He stated that the republic is a value that rejects discrimination and brings all citizens together under the roof of brotherhood.
A Message of Unity and Brotherhood
Erdoğan said that the problems experienced in the country over the years are not due to the fundamental values of the republic, but because of those who exploit these values. Emphasizing that the Republic of Turkey is not an ordinary state, Erdoğan said, “This republic is the joint work of Turkey and our entire nation.” He also recalled the July 15 coup attempt at the meeting, stating that the Turkish nation stands tall despite all the difficulties. Erdoğan said, “No one living on these lands has a problem with the republic,” and emphasized the importance of unity and solidarity.
Steps Regarding Rights and Freedoms
Erdoğan touched on the importance of reforms made in recent years regarding rights and freedoms in the country. Stating that many steps were taken to end discrimination against religious groups, Alevi citizens and minority groups, especially during the AK Party period, Erdoğan said, “We did not alienate or discriminate against anyone,” and indicated that providing equal rights to all citizens was their primary goal. Erdoğan also said that the investments made in the eastern and southeastern regions were the biggest investments in history, adding that they attached special importance to the development of these regions.
Support Message for Bahçeli
At the end of his speech, Erdoğan once again expressed his support for MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and said, “I express my greetings and gratitude to our comrade in the People’s Alliance, Devlet Bahçeli.” Erdoğan stated that Bahçeli’s stance, which has taken a determined stance in the fight against terrorism, is important to them and said that the People’s Alliance aims for a stronger future for the country.
With these messages, President Erdoğan made a speech that both glorified the founding values of the Republic and emphasized the unity and solidarity of the country. Erdoğan expressed the importance of protecting the values that hold all citizens together and emphasized that future generations should also unite around these values.
