Halal Economy and Turkey’s Global Vision, Strong Message from Erdoğan to the Summit
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent a video message as part of the 10th World Halal Summit and Halal Expo 2024, emphasizing Turkey’s determination to become a global production base. Erdoğan expressed his belief that the countries and companies participating in the summit will develop new collaborations in line with a common vision.
Turkey’s Strategic Location and Global Goals
Erdoğan stated that Turkey is located at the heart of three continents and that this advantage is effectively used to increase economic potential. “We consider it our duty to support everyone working to activate the potential of the Turkish economy,” said Erdoğan, adding that Turkey will continue to be a center of attraction for investors, regardless of domestic or foreign capital.
Erdoğan, who drew attention to the fact that the business forums to be organized as part of the summit will create important opportunities for new investments and partnerships, said, “This organization serves as an important bridge for both the Islamic world and the global economy.”
Growing Market for Halal Certified Products and Services
Emphasizing that halal certified products and services have reached a market exceeding 5 trillion dollars worldwide, Erdoğan stated that this sector continues to grow with clean, healthy and religiously sensitive products. Expressing that Turkey has reinforced its leading role in this field through the Halal Accreditation Agency, Erdoğan also drew attention to the activities of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries and called for the elimination of differences in the field of halal certification.
Food Safety and Standardization
Erdoğan stated that ensuring food safety is of critical importance for public health and explained the work carried out in this field with the Turkish Food Codex and control laboratories. Erdoğan said, “We meticulously implement international food safety standards to reduce health risks and ensure safe food consumption by the society,” and stated that efforts to facilitate international trade of halal certified products are also ongoing.
The Power of Youth and Vision
Emphasizing that young people and technology-focused initiatives play a central role in the vision of the Turkish Century, Erdoğan stated that they support the leadership of young people in shaping the future. Underlining the importance given to young people with events such as TEKNOFEST, the President said that such organizations play an important role in supporting the scientists and entrepreneurs of the future.

Erdoğan stated that the joint vision of the companies and countries participating in the summit will carry the halal economy to a further level and expressed that Turkey will continue to lead this process. He added that the discussions brought up at the summit will create new opportunities for companies and consumers in the sector.
