Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun made important statements on Turkey’s regional and global policies at the Stratcom Forum’24 program held in Istanbul. Altun made remarkable assessments on Turkey’s Syria policy, the use of artificial intelligence technologies and peace-oriented international initiatives.
Clear Stance on Syria Policy
In his speech, Altun emphasized the historical importance of Turkey’s stance in Syria and stated that Turkey has stood by the oppressed for 13 years. “Syria belongs to Syrians. As Turkey, we will do our best to ensure that our Syrian brothers and sisters live in peace and tranquility,” Altun said, adding that they oppose any political and ethnic engineering attempts on Syria.

Speaking about Turkey’s peace-oriented international initiatives in his speech, Altun stated that Turkey, under the leadership of President Erdoğan, is the solution address in its region and in the world. Referring to the Ankara Agreement signed between Ethiopia and Somalia, Altun said that this agreement demonstrates Turkey’s important role for global peace and stability.
Referring to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Altun stated that Turkey is fighting for the end of atrocities in Palestine. Emphasizing the need for accountability before international law, Altun stated that Turkey has taken a decisive stance on this issue.
