“You sent me to boarding school when I was 9. You didn’t call and ask until the engineer came out. I don’t know what family means, but I would like to see a real father to be a father to my children.”
Despite these harsh words, Hasan’s father gave a lesson-worthy response:
“Then don’t withhold from your children what I withheld from you. A father’s sonhood ends when he becomes a father, Hasan.”
This scene questions not only father-son relationships, but also familial responsibilities carried over generations.
