First Step to Aviation: Piloting and Aircraft Maintenance Seminar at Balıkesir University

Balıkesir University School of Civil Aviation hosted an important event for students interested in the aviation industry. Representatives of AYJET Flight School, one of the leading flight schools in Turkey, shared their experiences in pilotage and aircraft maintenance with the students. Instructor Pilot Faruk Türkmen and Aircraft Maintenance Technician Şükrü Bilgin had a pleasant and informative conversation for young people aiming for an aviation career.

Steps to a Pilot Career
In the first part of the event, Instructor Pilot Faruk Türkmen gave important information on pilot training and the requirements of this profession. Answering the questions of students who want to take a step into the aviation sector, Türkmen touched upon the difficulties and advantages of the journey of becoming a pilot.

Informing the students about aircraft maintenance techniques, required certificates and training processes, Bilgin said: “Pilots fly the aircraft in the air, but we technicians ensure the safety of the aircraft on the ground. In this job, the margin of error is zero and every detail is of great importance,” he said, emphasizing how sensitive aircraft maintenance is.

Bilgin also talked about the innovations in aviation technology, noting that digital systems and automation are playing an increasing role in aircraft maintenance. He also guided young people on how they can make a career plan in this field.
