“He is showing an example of a successful struggle,” Erdoğan said about Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy, emphasizing the need to strengthen Turkey-US relations. “We expect Trump to say ‘stop’ to Israel and fulfill his promises to end the conflicts,” he said, recalling Trump’s promises to Israel in particular.
