“Shocking Development in Diyarbakır: New Confessions Emerged in the Murder”
A significant development occurred last night in the investigation of the Narin Güran murder in Diyarbakır. Nevzat Bahtiyar, who was arrested in connection with the murder and is in prison, confessed everything he knew, unable to withstand his remorse. Brought to the courthouse under tight security measures at night, Bahtiyar was questioned for four hours. In his statement, he said that his uncle Salim Güran was behind the incident and that the little girl, who saw Narin’s relationship with her mother Yüksel, was strangled to death by Salim.
A Confession Coming with Remorse
Narin Güran was an 8-year-old girl whose lifeless body was found in Eğerturtmaz Creek 19 days after she disappeared in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır. Nevzat Bahtiyar, who was detained and arrested in the investigation launched after the incident, had given different details in his initial statements. Bahtiyar stated that he acted under threats and pressure from Salim Güran and confessed the details of the incident at the courthouse.
Bahtiyar said that his uncle Salim Güran had an affair with the little girl’s mother Yüksel and that he killed Narin when he saw this. “On the day of the incident, Salim called me and I went home. When I got home, Narin was lying motionless. Salim said that Narin saw what happened and that’s why he killed her. He asked me to destroy the body and threatened me,” he confessed.

Bahtiyar stated that he was forced to dispose of the body due to threats from Salim Güran. Bahtiyar, who described in detail what happened on the day of the murder, stated that Salim threatened him and asked him to destroy Narin’s body and that he had to accept this offer. “He said he would harm my son. That’s why I was helpless and took the body to Eğerturtmaz Creek. However, I only witnessed this incident, I did not commit the crime,” he said.
Bahtiyar, who confessed that he wrapped the body in a blanket and took it to the creek after Salim’s threats, stated that he decided to tell the truth because of the remorse he felt. Bahtiyar said, “Salim told me, ‘You witnessed this incident, if you don’t remove the body, I will kill you too.’ I threw the body into the Eğerturtmaz Stream because I was scared.”
Narin’s Mother Cried After Me
Bahtiyar stated that Narin’s mother Yüksel witnessed what happened and that she didn’t know what to do in the face of Salim’s threats at the time of the incident. In his confession, he said that Narin’s mother watched them crying as he wrapped the body in a blanket and took it away. “Narin’s mother was crying while watching us. This moment is engraved in my memory. The incident happened very quickly and I was under threat,” he said, expressing his regret.
Bahtiyar explained that he tried to cover the body with a large rock while he was dropping it into the Eğerturtmaz Stream and that he left the scene in a hurry. “I left the body in the stream and immediately left. But I have been feeling guilty ever since,” he said.
