With the Ministry of Health’s new digital integration system, family physicians will be able to request tests directly from hospitals as of January 1, 2025.
New Era for Family Physicians: Request for Examination and Digital Integration System Starts
With the new application announced by the Ministry of Health, family physicians and healthy life centers will be digitally integrated with hospitals. Starting January 1, 2025, the system will ensure a strong connection between primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare services. This innovation will offer an important transformation in access to healthcare services by facilitating the examination processes of patients.
Examinations will be Requested in Digital Environment
Thanks to the new system, family physicians will be able to directly request the necessary examinations for patients. For procedures such as INR, X-rays, mammography and newborn hip ultrasonography, patients will be able to have their tests done without registering for an outpatient clinic. The results will be reflected directly on the screens of family physicians.
In this way, patients will no longer have to visit different health institutions and the results of the examinations can be shared quickly. Patients will also be able to access all their results via e-Pulse.
Special Quota for Examination Appointments
Family physicians will be able to create special quotas for patients registered with them through the Central Physician Appointment System (MHRS). In this way, patients will be able to make appointments faster and will be prioritized for secondary or tertiary care examinations.
Family physicians will be able to create physician notes for referred patients and doctors at the hospital will have access to this information. Doctors in hospitals will also be able to write feedback notes to family physicians after examinations.
Ease of Appointment to Healthy Life Centers
Under the new system, Healthy Life Centers will offer consultancy services with specialists such as dieticians, psychologists, physiotherapists and child development specialists. Physicians will be able to direct their patients to these centers through the digital system and share information notes throughout the counseling process.
Patients will be able to easily view all information about the consultancy services they receive from Healthy Life Centers and their health status through the e-Nabız system.
Laboratory and Imaging Procedures will be Simplified
Requests for laboratory and imaging procedures will also be managed through the digital system. Family physicians will be able to make appointments with hospitals for tests such as blood tests, mammography or ultrasound. In this way, patients will be able to have their tests performed directly at the hospital without additional examination or registration.
The procedures will be tracked with codes created specifically for each patient and the results will be digitally displayed on the physicians’ screens. The validity period of the test codes will be 3 days, and if the procedure is not performed within this period, the code will be canceled.
What are the Advantages of the System?
This new digital integration system will enable faster and more reliable results in healthcare services while saving time for patients. Patients will be able to easily track their test results via e-Nabız and benefit from consultancy services when necessary.
The Ministry of Health states that this system will increase patient satisfaction and make healthcare services more accessible. It will also increase information sharing and coordination among doctors, which will speed up diagnosis and treatment processes.
