Numan Kurtulmuş: A Strong Turkey Cleansed from Terrorism Will Be Built
The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Numan Kurtulmuş made important statements at the Governors Meeting held in the Assembly. Kurtulmuş stated that they will work with determination to strengthen Turkey’s internal security and to create a country completely cleansed of terrorism. Addressing the governors at the meeting, Kurtulmuş emphasized that ensuring state and nation solidarity is one of the main goals.
“The Governorship is an Open Door Between the State and the Nation”
Kurtulmuş stated that the governorship is one of the most important communication points between the state and the citizen. Emphasizing that governors serve to meet all kinds of needs of the people, Kurtulmuş said that the offices should always be at the service of the people.
Drawing attention to the fact that the people had difficulty reaching state officials in the past years, Kurtulmuş stated that this situation is now over. “In the past, it was difficult even to see the governor. However, today, even in the most remote corners of Turkey, our most qualified officials work side by side with the people,” he said.
Decisive Steps in the Fight Against Terrorism
In his speech, Kurtulmuş also touched on the fight against terrorism and stated that Turkey has taken important steps towards becoming a country completely free of terrorism. Stating that “By keeping Turkey’s inner castle intact, we will establish an order where terrorist incidents do not occur as soon as possible,” Kurtulmuş emphasized that security forces and administrators will act decisively in this regard.
Kurtulmuş stated that the fight against terrorism is not limited to military operations only and that social solidarity and economic development also play a critical role in this process. He expressed that the support of the people, combined with the power of the state, will be effective in eradicating terrorism.
State-People Solidarity is Strengthening
Stating that the provincial governorships should serve as a door that listens to the people’s problems and produces solutions, Kurtulmuş emphasized the importance of the state always being by the people’s side. He stated that responding quickly to the people’s demands will increase social trust.
In this context, he underlined that governors should work to increase the welfare of the people and ensure social peace in the regions where they are located. Reminding that public officials should be in close contact with the public, Kurtulmuş said that this understanding will continue to be implemented in every corner of Turkey.
Roadmap for a Strong Turkey
Kurtulmuş stated that work will continue on the axis of security, social solidarity and economic growth so that Turkey can take a step towards a strong and peaceful future. He emphasized that the goal of a Turkey cleansed of terrorism is not only a security project, but also a development and welfare project.
Asking governors to support development projects in the regions they are located in and to prioritize the needs of the people, Kurtulmuş stated that the integration of the state with the people is of vital importance for the future of Turkey.
