Trade Minister Bolat: Historical Record in Exports in October
Turkey reached the highest foreign trade volume in the history of the republic in October, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat announced in Antalya. Stating that Turkey’s export figures increased steadily during the first 10 months of the year, Bolat said that this success strengthened the confidence in the Turkish economy.
Record $23.6 Billion in Exports in October
Stating that October export figures increased by 3.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 23.6 billion dollars, Bolat announced that this figure is the highest October export in the history of the republic. Bolat stated that this success demonstrates the increasing effectiveness of the Turkish economy in the global market and that the demand for Turkish products is gradually increasing.
10 Records Broken in 15 Months in Exports
Minister Bolat emphasized that Turkey has renewed its export record 10 times in the last 15 months. Stating that our exporters have contributed a great deal to this success, Bolat drew attention to the diversity among the sectors that increase the competitiveness of our country. Stating that Turkey has strengthened its position in world markets, Minister Bolat said that the country is rapidly approaching its strategic export targets and that they expect this momentum to continue in the coming months.
Export Growth in the First 10 Months
Turkey’s exports increased by 3.2 percent in the first 10 months of 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 216.4 billion dollars. Bolat stated that this steady increase shows Turkey’s determination in its foreign trade strategy and emphasized that the projects carried out by the government to increase exports have been successful. Bolat said that the efforts made especially for the European and Middle Eastern markets were effective in this increase, and added that their goal is to maintain this success until the end of the year.
New steps are being taken for economic growth
Trade Minister Bolat stated that new steps have been taken to further increase exports, which contribute to Turkey’s economic growth. Stating that their goal is to maintain export-oriented economic growth, Bolat explained that projects focused on innovation, technology and digitalization are prioritized in this direction. Stating that they aim to gain a larger share especially in the export of value-added products, Bolat said that their growth targets in these areas shed light on the future of the economy.
