Global Call for Strengthening International Solidarity and Peace

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his video message as part of the United Nations (UN) Future Summit, drew attention to global problems such as occupation, terrorism, racism and climate change worldwide, and emphasized that the international community should raise a stronger voice against these problems. Erdoğan stated that a more determined stance should be taken, especially against the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

Erdoğan stated that the UN Future Summit provided a solution platform against the threats humanity faces, and called on world leaders to make the best use of this opportunity. He said that the summit opened a window of opportunity in line with the goal of achieving peace, security and justice worldwide.

The Situation in Palestine and Global Silence
Erdoğan stated that the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, especially Gaza, caused humanitarian crises. He stated that more than 41 thousand people, including 17 thousand children, lost their lives, more than 100 thousand people were injured and Gaza was largely destroyed. In this context, Erdoğan emphasized that the voice of the international community and especially the UN should be stronger against Israel’s occupation policies, and said, “In a world where children die under bombs, no one can feel safe.” He reiterated that Turkey will continue to stand by the oppressed and will not back down from its stance against oppression.

Fighting Against Islamophobia and Xenophobia
Erdoğan drew attention to the fact that global threats such as terrorism, Islamophobia, xenophobia, irregular migration and climate change are further deepening geopolitical turmoil around the world. Erdoğan stated that the fight against rising far-right movements and racism, especially in the Western world, is critical for the protection of democracies, and emphasized the importance of standing against hate speech.

Global Governance Architecture and the Multilateral System
President Erdoğan drew attention to the fact that not only developed countries but also countries continuing their development efforts should be fairly represented in the global governance structure. He stated that green transformation should be prioritized for a better future and a climate-resistant development model should be created. In this context, he stated that it is essential to reshape a multilateral system based on justice and fairness.

Inviting world leaders to unite in line with these goals at the UN Future Summit, Erdoğan emphasized the importance of international cooperation against the problems humanity faces. Erdoğan stated that justice and fairness should be ensured by taking the slogan “The world is bigger than five” as the centerpiece at the summit. He expressed that leaders should join hands in this direction.

Call for Democracy and Climate Justice
Erdoğan emphasized the importance of protecting democracies against racism, far-right movements and hate speech, while also stating that sustainable development and climate justice issues should be addressed. He stated that the level of welfare of societies can be achieved in a structure where not only a certain segment but all of humanity is fairly represented. Erdoğan said that no society should be left behind within the framework of green transformation and climate-resilient development.
