Turkish Community in the USA Celebrated Republic Day with Joy

Republic Day Celebration in New York

New York hosted a special event to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the founding of our Republic. Organized by the Federation of Turkish American Associations, the Turkish community in the United States and guests celebrated Turkish culture and the values of the Republic while reinforcing the friendship between Turkey and the United States.

The opening of the evening began with the singing of the National Anthem and the condemnation of the terrorist attacks in Turkey. Under the leadership of Gülay Aydemir, President of the Federation of Turkish American Associations, the guests were hosted in the best way possible and at the end of the night, Aydemir accepted congratulations for her achievements. The Turkish Ambassador to Washington Sedat Önal and his wife Figen Önal, Permanent Representative to the UN Ahmet Yıldız and his wife Emine Yıldız, and other important figures took part in this meaningful event. In addition, state representatives such as Ambassador Muhittin Ahmet Yazal and his wife Kadire Zeynep Yazal, Consul General of Turkey in New York, Turkish American associations affiliated with the federation and artists from Turkey added color to the night.

At the ball in New York, Turkish and American guests enjoyed a night full of cultural events and artists from Turkey. The special performance of the famous violinist Canan Anderson marked the night. Anderson’s artistry with her violin gave the guests an unforgettable musical feast. The other artists who took the stage afterwards gave the audience a taste of the joy of the Republic Day. This event, which included cultural performances, contributed to strengthening the ties between Turkey and the US on a cultural basis.
